About Langtang Valley Trek

A characteristic Langtang valley trek as we hike through lush green forested valleys, sacred mountain lakes, and immense white peaks that glitter in the Sunrise on Langtang Lirung come across to Nepal for a holiday experience & enjoy the clean, pure air and incredible valleys of the Langtang region – it’s closer to the green, green grass of home; surely home to the Gods. From the hullabaloo that’s Kathmandu, we plod into a remote haven of glacial landscapes, divine sites, lush green hamlets and vibrant mountain villages.

Langtang valley trek can be done by camping which blends well with the wilderness or we can also do the trip teahouse style which is also good. The local inhabitants hereabouts are few & the area offers some genuine adventure hiking where the accommodation is simple as can expect in these type of mountainous regions & the food is just fine but the time we spend here is as good as being on cloud 7. we bunk out on organic farmlands, get to see red pandas & numerous bird species & we enjoy a fairytale outing that would be good for noting down in our diaries for stories to be told to the generations to come about our experiences & great moments in one of the most stunningly naturally lovely places on planet earth.

A fully supported camping-based trek to the sacred lakes of Gosainkunda in the Helambu region. Although only a day’s drive from Kathmandu, this region is relatively isolated and predominantly inhabited by the Tamangs and Helambu Sherpas who originated in Tibet just to the north. A highlight of our trek is a visit to Kyanjing Gompa before we cross to Gosainkunda. A trek in this region offers the opportunity to view traditional village life amid a picturesque alpine wilderness and affords brilliant views of the mighty peaks of Langtang (7234m) and Ganesh (7446m) as well as a sprawl of endless 6000m+ summits. Although not a well-known region of the Himalayas, a trek in the Langtang offers stunning views as well as cultural interaction and is a good option for those short on time.

The stunning Langtang valley trek lies to the north of Kathmandu and sees fewer trekkers than the Annapurna or Everest regions. In autumn expect to see superb views of the great peak of Langtang Lirung (7246m), while in spring this is an ideal route for those interested in birds and flowers. Both seasons allow you to reach the glaciers below Langtang Lirung and climb Kyanjin RI or Tserko RI for some magnificent panoramas. Our return takes us past the spectacular holy lake at Gosainkunda, an important place of pilgrimage, and across the Laurebina Pass to the end of the trek in the gentler region of Helambu.
