Itinerary

Day 01:-Arrive in Kathmandu:

You will be picked up at the airport by one of the Tour and Trekking Nepal staff and driven to your Kathmandu host family or a hotel. Here you will be welcomed into the family, be given your own room and be provided with all your meals while in Kathmandu. This will be your home during your orientation and volunteering in Nepal. With easy bus routes into town and the surrounding countryside, this quiet and safe suburb is the perfect base for your time in Nepal.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation:

We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. The Durbar Square sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Baudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, we are introduced to our fellow participants and discuss our trip at the Tour and Trekking Nepal office.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu – Besishahar:

We drive from Kathmandu for about 7 hours to Besishahar. We drive along the Trisili River through the beautiful countryside of Nepal. We can see many beautiful villages, farms, rivers and magnificent mountain scenarios. From Mugling we head along the roadway Pokhara. We leave the highway to Pokhara at Dumre and continue drive towards north to Besishahar. Besishahar offers us a first glimpse of the beautiful mountain range. We stay overnight at guesthouse (B, L, D)

Day 04: Trek Besishahar – Chame Trek:

We drive from Besishahar for about 7 hours to Chame. The trail follows the river Marshyadgdi upstream passing by the villages of Latamanang and Koto before further half an hour brings us at Chame. We stay overnight at guesthouse (B, L, D)

Day 05: Chame – Pisang Trek:

Today we will experiences a dramatic change of scenery. The trail then follows the steep narrow valley through pine woods and small villages with several ups and downs till you reach orchard village of Bhartang where you can have apple garden. We continue through the garden path up to a bridge and we cross the river where the impressive curved rock faces of Paungda Danda rises from the riverbank, and climb to the village of Pisang at (3,300m.) We stay overnight at guesthouse (B, L, D)

Day 06: Pisang -Manang Trek:

After Pisang, there are two routes that we can follow to reach Manang. If taken lower, less strenuous route follows valley floor via Hongde, and upper route through upper Pisang via Geru, upper route is almost 3 hours longer than normal lower route, the sceneries are outstanding on the way to upper Pisang. We feel like we are horizontally in front of the magnificent peaks .The panoramic views of towering peaks such as Annapurna 2, 3, 4, Pisang peak Gangapurna, and several others will definitely attract us. Passing carved Mani walls we arrive at the village of Manang. We stay overnight at guesthouse (B, L, D)

Day 07: Rest  and Acclimatization Day at Manang:

It is important to have an extra day in Manang for acclimatization as we start the climb towards the higher altitude, Tilicho. There are spectacular views of the majestic Himalayas peaks around the Manang valley, it’s not good idea to stay idle but short walk to higher altitude is recommended to get acclimatized with the altitude. Manang is right place to do that as next two days will be considered as a challenging trek for us with rapid gain in altitude. There are lots of options for day walks around Manang. One possibility is to walk to Khangsar village on the way to Tilicho Lake or a longer walk to Ice Lake above Braga. Also worth visiting is the Himalayan Rescue Association to get some ideas about rapid mountain sickness. We stay overnight at guesthouse (B, L, D)

Day 08: Manang – Tilicho Base Camp Trek:

From Manang, the trail climbs steeply past the Gompa and little chortens. The trail experiences juniper and ocean buckthorn brambles. The way is very secured by little precious stones and bushes that can be seen on the two sides of the trail. A few places along the trail, you cross a couple of streams. You achieve a peak (4650m) with a supplication that hails after the wearying ascension and afterward through a progression of crisscrosses down a screen incline that conveys you to the Tilicho Base Camp Hotel. From here, you can appreciate the closer and all-encompassing perspectives on Tilicho Mountain and numerous other surrounding mountains. Day 09: Tilicho Base Camp – Tilicho Lake and back to Base Camp Trek:

Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world at (4920m), presents a particularly dramatic spectacle. Sometimes its turquoise water reflects the surrounding peaks but more often its frozen solid. After spending the memorable time at Tilicho Lake, we will trek down to Tilicho base camp via the same way for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Tilicho Base Camp – Yak Kharka Trek:

After finishing the good trek on the world’s most elevated lake, we will currently begin diving down to Yak Kharka today. Subsequent to waking and having our morning meal, we will stroll along a simple trail down to Sri Kharka and keep strolling along the Marsyangdi River today. The trail keeps on moving out of the Marsyangdi Valley. The trail pursues this valley north, passing a Goths as it consistently gains height. Day 11: Yak Kharka – Thorang Phedi Trek:

Day 12: Thorang Phedi – Muktinath via Thorong La Pass Trek:

After getting up in the early morning and being too ready to start our journey, we will head towards to Thorong La Passes today. Thorong La Pass is one of the most elevated goes on the planet. In spite of the fact that it is hard, it is the most uncommon day of our trekking. We will begin our adventure in the early morning at around 4 am with the goal that we can reach Thorang La that goes at around 9-10 am. On the off chance that we defer it, at that point, the climate may make a few troubles. We will climb steeply which isn’t so troublesome. Early morning at around 7:00 am, we drive by tourist bus to Kathmandu along the Trishuli and Marshyadgdi River through the beautiful countryside of Nepal that offers villages, Rivers greeneries, rice fields and wonderful mountain sceneries. After nearly 5-6 hours drive we arrive to Kathmandu. Your day is free, however, at even tide; you will be taken to a well known Nepali kitchen for a delicious farewell dinner of the original Nepalese cuisine. As you enjoy your meal, you will also be entertained to an exciting cultural dance performed by the local belles. You will enjoy this experience which is complimentary on behalf of the Volunteer Society Treks. We stay overnight at hotel (B, D).

Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu by Tourist Bus:

After breakfast, transfer to the Tourist bus station and 07: 30 am drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. This scenic drive offers fascinating glimpses of rural Nepal as you pass through Middle Hill scenery along the famous rafting Trishuli River originated from Tibet northeast of Kathmandu.

Day 15: Farewell Friend and Departure/Fly back Home:

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! A Tour and Trekking Nepal representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way to home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
